Diego Gonzalez Terminel ’23 presented on the ethics of gambling in gaming. Diego discussed the possible harms of games with loot boxes and pseudo-gambling and provided several solutions and recommendations to resolve these issues.

About Diego Gonzalez Terminel
Diego Gonzalez Terminel ’23, graduated from SCU as a communication major and environmental studies minor and was 2022-23 Hackworth Fellow with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. Diego was born in Houston, Texas, however, grew up internationally and is half Mexican and half Spanish. A few of his hobbies include playing video games, trying new restaurants, spending quality time with friends, yoga, and hikes! Drawing from personal experiences and research, Diego identified and organized guidelines for designing ethical online gaming spaces. Through his work, Diego hopes to continue his mission to serve as an advocate and leader for the neurodivergent community and for those who struggle mental health issues.
