The Ethics Center is pleased to announce the launch of  “Cultural Assessment Practice,” free materials to encourage and support ethical culture assessment for organizations. While these unique resources are primarily for members of an organization’s leadership team, including human resources and legal, they are also designed to engage a cross-section of leaders from a variety of disciplines.

“There’s a recognition that recent high-profile controversies have stemmed from ethical breakdowns in organizational culture,” said Ann Skeet, senior director of Business and Leadership Ethics. “Whether stemming from rapid growth in the tech sector or as a response to societal interests, such as those triggered by the #MeToo movement, culture has become top-of-mind in the C-suite.”

The materials include:

  • Description of how to conduct an assessment
  • Definition of healthy culture with recommended action steps
  • Case study of assessment at Seagate and samples of questions for the process
  • Interview with lead independent director at Seagate about their experience
  • Slidedeck to share information about culture assessment
  • Set of practical and academic articles about culture
  • Framework for Ethical Decision Making

The Center is grateful to the Park Family Fund grant for supporting the project, and to Seagate Technology for piloting the materials. The webpage can be easily accessed at bit.ly/culturepractice. Join the online conversation: #culturepractice.
