Day of Giving Breaks Records as Sprinksgiving Thanks Approaches
The Ethics Center enjoyed a record breaking Day of Giving on March 8, receiving $300,064 from 130 donors. This placed the Center second for total dollars raised by a University department and 12th for number of donors overall. Thank you to all those who made a gift on this day – you not only helped support our numerous programs, but played an invaluable role in helping us meet our Challenge gift of $25,000 from the Markkula Family Foundation. The Day of Giving is just one day a year that our donors contribute their time and dedication to making the Ethics Center one of the largest and most respected in the world-- but of course this is a year-round effort. From the Healthcare Ethics Internship program that teaches students about day-to-day ethical issues and dilemmas in medicine, to the Business Ethics Internships that help undergraduates learn about complex business ethics issues, SCU students know that none of these experiences would be possible without the generous support of our donors. On April 26, the Center will joining in on the annual "Sprinksgiving (Thanksgiving in the Spring) celebration, where the SCU community enjoys an informal reception featuring music, snacks, and a giant THANK YOU card for signing in recognition of how much donors make the difference. All are welcome to join in the festivities, and thank you again from all the Center staff.
