Minimizing AI risks is topic of Feb. 13 talk
For those who cannot attend the Feb. 13 Ethics Center event "Minimizing AI Risks: An Agile Ethical/Legal Model for the International and National Governance of AI," the event will be broacast LiveStream starting at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. The speaker, Wendell Wallach, is a scholar at Yale University’s Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics and a senior adviser to The Hastings Center. He has also advised the United Nations and the World Economic Forum. A world-renowned specialist in the ethics of technology, and an expert in the ethics of robotics and AI, Wallach will discuss the risks associated with artificial intelligence and consider a framework for governance over this powerful new technology. He is also the 2018 SCU Department of Philosophy visiting Austin J. Fagothey, S.J., Chair.
