Executive Director, Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics; Former Managing Director, Markkula Center for Applied Ethics

Thor Wasbotten is the Executive Director, Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics at the Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and for six years was managing director at the Ethics Center.

Thor Wasbotten is the Executive Director, Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics at the Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wasbotten is the former managing director of the Ethics Center where from 2019-2025 he was responsible for foundation proposals, contracts and project management. He played a key role in Center-wide strategic, budget and personnel planning and decision making.

Wasbotten has more than a decade of leadership experience in higher education and a decade in industry. He served as director of Community Engagement and professor in the College of Communication and Information at Kent State University. Prior to that, he served as the director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State and as assistant dean in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University. In industry, he served as news director at the ABC-television affiliate in Tucson, Arizona, and as station manager and founding news director at the FOX-television affiliate in Boise, Idaho.
