The Markkula Center’s Framework for Ethical Decision Making (which includes a brief discussion of what ethics is--and is not) is a quick way to prepare students to tackle different case studies, and gives structure to class discussions. We recommend printing out this framework and giving it to students as a handout for in-class discussions, so they can use it to apply its multiple ethics “lenses” as they consider various ethical issues in computing.
