What Experts say About the Expectation of Privacy After Jonah Hill's Texts Released
National Post Toronto reports on actor Jonah Hill is facing condemnation for the way he spoke to his ex in text messages she later exposed to the public, while others are questioning the exposure from an ethics and privacy perspective.
There’s also a question of who benefits from these types of incidents, says Heider, while pointing to the platforms that host the content and the media outlets that report on the story.
“Neither one of these people are necessarily profiting off of making this exchange, probably. But the social media platform that it is being shared on is getting thousands and thousands of clicks. And if we are the ones inhaling this, if we’re clicking on every scandal, then we bear some responsibility, too.”
