Global Engagement Barbara Cassin Award
Through the generous gift of Barbara Cassin, a friend of Santa Clara University who believed in the value of international education and experiences, the Associate Provost for International Programs offers an annual award that recognizes outstanding faculty efforts supporting global engagement.
Nominations are due April 22 each year. Award recipients are honored annually in September.
Nomination Guidelines
- Nominations for the Global Engagement Barbara Cassin Award are invited each spring by the Associate Provost for International Programs. Nominations may be submitted by students, faculty, or staff. Self-nominations are welcome.
- All nominations must be completed through the Barbara Cassin Awards Nomination form.
- The following criteria are required for eligibility:
- The nominee must be a faculty member
- The nominee must have completed exceptional faculty teaching, research, or service work that facilitates global learning experiences or initiatives focused on SCU’s Global Engagement priorities of global learning, global diversity, global sustainability, and global engagement that impact students at SCU
- The nominee may not have previously won the award
- The deadline for nominations is April 22, 2025
- The recipient(s) of the Barbara Cassin Award will be determined by the Associate Provost for International Programs in consultation with the Barbara Cassin Awards Committee
Guidance on Successful Nominations
- Reach out to the person whom you would like to nominate and talk with them about their accomplishments.
- Reach out to others to discuss the nominee with them and request additional details to include in your nomination.
- In your nomination, share examples of activities and details that demonstrate why this person deserves to be recognized.
