Associate Provost Global Engagement Update
Summer is a busy time, with study abroad programs in the Southern Hemisphere beginning in July, launching 2024-25 study abroad advising for first year and continuing students, and welcoming our new international students joining SCU from around the globe. We have also launched an updated International Travel Proposal supporting all university-sponsored group travel at the University for our 2024-25 Qualtrics pilot.
In addition, I joined colleagues in Kenya as part of work on the Global Theological Initiative (GTI), led by SCU’s Dean Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator, Dean of the Jesuit School of Theology. The GTI is an international partnership involving seven Jesuit schools including: Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, United States; Hekima University College, Nairobi, Kenya; Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, United States; Regis College, University of Toronto, Canada; Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines; Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune, India; and Vidyajyoti College of Theology, Delhi, India. I was inspired by the dialog and fellowships among the group of institutions and look forward to a thriving collaboration.
I wish you all a productive and relaxing summer, as you desire.
Best, Susan Popko Associate Provost for International Programs
