Student assistants in Global Engagement support our mission to ignite curiosity and foster understanding about the world and Santa Clara University's place in the world. There are opportunities to gain administrative, interpersonal, intercultural, and other professional skills related to Global Engagement.

Study Abroad Peer Advisor
Peer Advisors help guide students in the study abroad process and provide front-line advising to students seeking study abroad opportunities. Peer advisors also participate in outreach activities and assist with projects and events as needed, including the Abroaden Your Horizons podcast, Global Opportunities Expo, and pre-departure events.
- Fall quarter only and full academic year positions available
- 10 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend events

ISS Peer Advisor
ISS Peer Advisors foster connections and community for SCU’s 1,600 international students and scholars. ISS Peer Advisors will assist with administrative tasks, lead events and activities, support communication, and provide guidance to international students throughout their time at SCU. Primary responsibilities include supporting current students with I-20 form pickup and other immigration-related forms and connecting students with resources to answer common questions.
- Must work on-campus during ISS document pick-up hours: Monday and Tuesday 2-4 pm and Wednesday and Thursday 10-12 pm (Noon)
- Up to 10 hours per week

International Student Welcome (ISW) Team Leader
International Student Welcome Orientation Ambassadors provide support during International Student Welcome. Our international students want to engage with peers in order to get more familiarized with the SCU campus during their 1st week (post arrival) at SCU. ISW Orientation Ambassador main responsibilities include: participating in pre-arrival webinars, assisting with move-in on early move-in days, providing campus tours and SCU area tours, participating in a “Welcoming Student Panel” event during ISW, and assisting with ISW programming.
- Training during Spring Quarter
- Approximately 20 hours over the summer
- 20 hours of work on-campus during International Student Welcome (ISW) Orientation (Fall Quarter Week 0)

Communications and Events Student Assistant
The Communications and Events Student Assistant works with the Communications and Events Coordinator to create new and unique designs for SCU Global Engagement and support events planning and communications. Examples of Global Engagement events include: Global Engagement Photo Contest, International Education Week, and iExchange program events.
