ISW Orientation Ambassador Overview:
Global Engagement seeks ISW Team Leaders for Fall International Student Welcome Orientation (ISW) hosted by Global Engagement. ISW Team Leaders will participate in ISW to create connections and community for SCU’s incoming Global Broncos.
ISW Orientation Ambassadors will help lead events and activities, participate in a “Welcoming Student Panel”, assist students with move-in, assist with administrative tasks, and provide peer guidance to international students during their first week at SCU.
Main Duties:
- Assist the ISW team during International Student Welcome (ISW) with designated events
- Assist with new student move-in
- Connect students with resources, schools, and other respective departments to answer common questions
- Assist newly arrived students with social and cultural adjustment
- Meet with students in-person or virtually, as assigned
Administrative Duties:
- Assist ISS staff with immigration check-in
- Assist ISS staff in various ISW administrative tasks and projects, as assigned
Eligibility Criteria:
- International/global student status (or prior participation in a global program) is strongly preferred
- Undergraduate Students will only be considered for this position
- Willingness to work both set hours and flexible hours, depending on ISW schedule
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong detail orientation and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Availability to work 20 hours during International Student Welcome (ISW) Orientation (Fall Quarter Week 0)
- Ability to attend set online trainings and possible events over the summer
