Edgar Martinez serves as the Program Director for Thriving Neighbors, managing and operationalizing programing to positively contribute to the Ignatian Center's mission in the Greater Washington community of San Jose.
He holds a B.A. in Women’s Studies from UCLA, M.A. in Counselor Education from SJSU, and a second M.A. from UCSC in Education.
Edgar has over a decade of professional experience and scholarship in educational pipeline preparation, access, retention, and completion. He has worked in various secondary education roles including researcher; data analyst; lecturer; teaching assistant; residential life coordinator; and program evaluator. These roles have consistently illustrated that by meeting students where they are and providing opportunities to learn, all students can be successful.
