About
Cesar Chavez (1927-1993) and Dolores Huerta (1930 - ) were critical leaders in the American Labor movement and civil rights activists. They co-founded the United Farmworkers Association, which later merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to become the United Farm Workers (UFW).
Each year, Cesar Chavez is honored on March 31st and Dolores Huerta is honored on April 10th.
Both Chavez and Huerta had an impact on the local community and within SCU. We are grateful that both visited the SCU campus and engaged with the SCU community.
Today, SCU is proud to lift up and celebrate the contributions of these two pioneers.
