Lay Intentional Community

JST offers lay students the opportunity to live in a lay intentional community during their academic studies. Jean Donovan Community is a shared living arrangement in which lay students commit to formation that is enriched through companionship, mutual support, prayer and shared communal life.  

Members come together and build a community together.  They coordinate housing needs,  create a space each week for a shared meal, and often convene to pray and reflect.  During the academic year,  there will be times when the community makes time and space for retreat experiences.

Each community member resides in her/his own bedroom and shares the kitchen and common areas along with household responsibilities.   Each member is responsible for payment of their rent to JST Housing. Lay students who would like to live in a lay intentional community are required to complete an application and participate in an interview process with the JST Assistant Dean of Students.
