Dear Santa Clara University Community,
As we resume our classes and enter the last part of our academic year, I recorded a personal video message for you.
In our 169-year history, Santa Clara has faced numerous challenges. In very difficult times, take heart in the resilience of our Bronco community and the many examples of goodness and generosity we see all around.
We may be sheltering in place, but we are not standing still. To highlight our ongoing work in teaching, learning, and service, I am hosting a video series called “Bridging the Distance” starting next Tuesday. We will feature glimpses of your favorite parts of campus; brief interviews with students, faculty, staff and alumni; and some spiritual reflections. Even as we are dispersed, I hope you will find this series a helpful way to stay connected to Santa Clara.
There are signs of spring emerging on our campus. In these difficult times, they are symbols of hope for me. Even more, I see in you and all you are doing the hope that we all need to rely on now. We will get through this, with the help of God and one another. In this we find our strength.
Until we are together again, know that you and your loved ones are in the prayers of the Jesuit Community daily.
God bless and take care.
Sincerely,
Kevin F. O'Brien, S.J.
President
