This collaborative art installation was inspired by a study of the everyday lives of long-term cancer survivors. Visual artist Renee Billingslea drew on interviews and photographs, collected by Professor Laura Ellingson during her research, to create a powerful story of love, strength, and loss. The art-social science collaboration provides insights into the complex realities of life long after cancer treatment ends. Encompassing joyful, painful, and mundane details of survivors' lives, the installation offers a timely and multi-textured look at how cancer and the harsh treatments used to thwart the disease irrevocably shape the trajectories of people's lives.
