Lunch & Discussion
Wednesday, February 16, 2005
Williman Room, Benson Memorial Center
As a part of Black History Month, the Library and Igwebuike invited the community to participate in the winter 2005 Literary Cuisine - A Celebration of Dori Sanders. Dori Sanders is the author of two novels, Clover, and Her Own Place, and a cookbook, Dori Sanders' Country Cooking. We were fortunate to have Ruth Wilson, Assistant Professor of African American Studies from San Jose State University, to offer some remarks on the life and times of Ms. Sanders. Bon Appétit prepared an absolutely delicious lunch based on recipes from Ms Sanders' cookbook.
- Mess O' Greens Salad With Warm Pecan Dressing
- Southern Fried Chicken
- Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes with Country Gravy
- Okra Parmigiana
- Ginger Molasses Cookies
