Rohit Chopra, assistant professor in the Department of Communication, will discuss some of the unique characteristics of Bollywood cinema. His presentation will cover seminal moments in its history, aesthetics, and politics, and the emergence of Bollywood as a global, cultural, and economic force. He will also address the phenomenon of Bollywood celebrities, who are demigods to their adoring fans, like the actor Shah Rukh Khan featured in the book King of Bollywood.
Bon Appétit will be serving a special Indian theme lunch.
