Optimizing Our Organization

Reimagine responsibilities, structures, frameworks, and conditions necessary to collaborate effectively, focus our efforts, and make meaningful progress toward Library goals.

Core Objectives

  1. Build a culture of intentional execution by establishing shared processes and structures that clarify how work is initiated, developed, documented, sustained, and completed.
  2. Clarify and focus staff contributions by realigning responsibilities, restructuring committees, and phasing out activities to align with library goals, strategic priorities, or capacity.
  3. Embed principles of accessibility across the Library's ecosystem to reflect organizational and institutional values.
  4. Develop student work experiences that build students' transferable skills, contribute meaningfully to library operations, and connect their work to SCU's educational mission.
  5. Define the Library's communications strategy that clarifies workflows across departments and coordinates messaging across platforms and channels to showcase the Library's services, resources, and programs.
  6. Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation by supporting initiatives that cultivate curiosity, creativity, and locally informed solutions.
