Neighborhood Ambassadors will provide Closing checklists, which should be posted on the INSIDE of your door.
All residents are required to move out within 24 hours of their last final, and no later than their building close date. Please review the undergraduate final exam schedule and finalize travel arrangements as early as possible.
Spring 2025 Housing Contract Extensions
The Spring extension form will open on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 9:00AM and will need to be submitted by Friday, June 6, at 5:00PM. You can find the extension form in your housing portal via MySCU.
Students who wish to sign up for a Housing contract extension, please fill out the extension form found in your housing portal under Applications:
Travel Extension: Extend your Housing contract through 9:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2025.
- You live more than 120 miles from campus.
- You have a scheduled final examination after 4:00pm on Thursday, Jun. 12, 2025
Graduation Extension: Extend your Housing contract through 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
- You have a family member who is a 2025 SCU graduate and is attending commencement events
- You will be assisting with Commencement events (Grad Bash, Commencement, Mass, Dining, etc.)
Students who have applied for Summer Housing with a June 16, 2025 booking date will transition to Sobrato Hall on June 16, 2025 and do not need to sign up for a Housing Contract extension.
University Villas and Neighborhood Units remain open through 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Students do not need to sign up for a Housing Contract extension. Students who are not participating in graduation activities are asked to move out within 24 hours of their last scheduled final examination.

Summer Housing
The 2025 summer session housing application will become available via your Housing Portal on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. The 2025 summer application is due Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The late application will open on May 7, for any last minute applicants.
Please keep in mind there are limited 2025 Undergraduate Summer Session housing for dates later in the summer session.
Undergraduate Summer Applicants will be notified about their summer housing by May 28, 2025.
Summer housing placement at Santa Clara University is shaped by operational requirements necessary to manage the brief transition periods and support timely room turnovers between the Spring, Summer, and Fall quarters. To streamline these transitions, student assignments will generally follow these priorities:
- Current residents will likely remain in their Spring assignment if it is located within the designated summer housing area.
- Students with a booking start date in June will likely be grouped based on their check-out date.
- Students with a booking start date in July or August will likely be grouped by check-in date.
Roommate requests will be accommodated when feasible, but they are considered secondary to operational placement priorities.
