EFC Tool Box

This Toolbox is designed to equip you with strategies and tools to become a self-regulated learner and achieve your goals. These strategies and tools are presented in different formats (i.e., digital media, handouts, articles, etc.) for you to explore and use. 

  • Planner Sheets

    SCU weekly planner: This planner breaks down the day into hours to help you plan in advance for your week. In it, schedule your lectures, labs, study groups, and appointments. Then utilize hour blocks between your commitments and designate them for study time, reading, writing, and working on projects.

    Self care planner: taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s essential for your success, happiness, and better learning! Plan daily actions that will help you recharge and be empowered. 

    Study planner: set goals for the study session, and break down the time and tasks you need to do for your study sessions to be efficient.

    Academic comeback planner: This planner guides you to reflect on last year’s achievements and directs you to set goals for the coming academic year 

  • Study Strategies

    Effective Study Strategies videos: Professor Stephen Chew, a professor of psychology at Samford, discusses in these 5-short videos how to study effectively in college. Each video is less than 10 minutes and has practical steps on how to get the most out of studying. 

    Choke Points and Pitfalls

    Writing Process: This document provides the steps to make a plan and an outline before start writing a paper. 

  • Exams

    Exam Feedback: This sheet will help you determine the reasoning behind incorrect answers, and how to improve your study techniques for the next exam.
