Art, Poetry, and Creativity Invitation
Inspired by the 2024 Opus Prize, the Santa Clara University community is invited to submit original works of art, music, and writing. Students of all majors; faculty; staff; and alumni are invited to share any genre of creative works including studio or digital art, poetry, photography, fiction, non-fiction writing, musical compositions, or other creative works. They can reflect many aspects of the Opus Prize, including this year's theme "Faith Makes Wonders Work," the values of the Opus Prize and/or the work, projects, or impact of the three Opus Prize finalists to be announced in July. Additional prompts to generate thinking can be found below.
All submissions will be eligible to be displayed in an exhibit on campus during Opus Prize Week Nov. 11-15, 2024.
Prizes will be awarded for student-submitted art, writing, or music entries that most convey the values or impact of the Opus Prize. There will be first, second, and third prize awards in three categories— writing, art, and music. Winning entries will be chosen by SCU Opus Prize subcommittee members.
- First Prize: $250 credit for use at Bronco Corner Bookstore
- Second Prize: $150 credit at Bronco Corner Bookstore
- Third Prize: $75 credit at Bronco Corner Bookstore
Submissions can include, but not limited to: poems, paintings, musical compositions, illustrations, graphic art, photography, and more. Submissions will be accepted through November 1, 2024.
