Onboarding Tasks to Complete
Access Credential
Your ACCESS credential is Santa Clara University's school ID, library card, debit card and personalized key to hundreds of SCU facilities. Eliminating the need to carry cash, it is accepted at the university bookstore and libraries, all campus dining venues, network printers and vending and laundry machines.
Authorized Payer
Students can also grant access to other Authorized Payers to view and use the online bill/pay system. Authorized Payers can be parents and other family, essentially whoever is responsible for paying bills for a student.
FERPA Release
If a student would like the University to be able to discuss financial matters and student records with a third party (like parents), then the student needs to complete the release form for FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). This release may be submitted at any time during the year by completing the form via your Workday portal under View Profile; then Personal; then Additional Data; then Edit.
Note: For those students who do decide to sign the FERPA release form, many do so during the Onboarding Fall Registration Checklist steps in their Workday portal. However, the release form may be signed at any time during the year. Some students also elect to not sign the form.
