Quarterly Newsletters
Our newsletter schedule has returned to quarterly rather than monthly.
First Year Hardship Applications
First-year hardship Applications are open from March 17th to April 17th. Please submit before the deadline to be considered for a resident permit for the Spring Quarter.
Main Gate Kiosk Hours of Operation & Services
- Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- All paper hangtags: Visitor, Daily (prorated), Contractor, Special Event permits
- Directions
- P&TS staff are here to serve all guests, faculty/staff, and students!
Due to our parking resources being heavily impacted across campus, the following violations are regularly enforced. A citation is a learning opportunity to ensure our customers know where they may/may not park.
As always, please follow all posted parking regulations and ensure you have an SCU-parking permit visible from the windshield when parking on campus to avoid a citation. If you have any questions, please visit Parking & Transportation Services - Santa Clara University.
Parking Permit Enforcement Hours
Parking permit enforcement hours are between 6 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday (except SCU-observed holidays).
Exceptions: Residential parking lots and service spaces (indicated by pavement markings) are enforced 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
Weekend Parking Policy
SCU parking permits are not required in any B, E, F, or visitor parking spaces on Saturdays and Sundays, however, please submit an Event Request Form if you are hosting an event on the weekend. Thank you!
Where Else Can I Park with My SCU Parking Permit?
Please review the Campus Map with Parking Lot designations.
Any SCU-issued permit holder MAY ALSO park in SCU Overflow "F" Lots.
Vehicle Permit Limit
A two-vehicle limit is allowed per parking permit decal, and the permit holder is responsible for ensuring decal is displayed when parking on campus. A valid parking permit must be displayed at all times.
Temporary Parking Permits/Lost & Stolen Parking Permits
If a parking permit is temporarily misplaced, or left in another vehicle, a $7 temporary parking permit is available for purchase. There are also less expensive options to purchase at pay and display stations located in overflow “F” lots. If a parking permit is lost/stolen, a Google Form needs to be submitted, and a $20 parking permit replacement fee is required.
Visitor Parking Permit Policy
Please review our Visitor Permit Policy when inviting a guest to campus.
Daily Parking Permits & Parking Space Reservations
Below are our rates for daily parking permits and parking space reservations:
Daily Parking Permit Hang Tag: $9
Pay and Display:
Parking Space Reservation (not including permit fees): $21
Pay Station/Parking Code Update
We are not accepting new requests for parking codes at this time. If you have an annual code that expires on 6/30/25, it may still be used through the end of this fiscal year. Our parking and transportation services team is working on a solution to address future parking code requests.
Loading Zones
For consistency purposes, all loading zones on SCU property will be restriped as 15-minute loading spaces in Summer, 2025. A loading permit is no longer required to park in these parking stalls. Enforcement staff will virtually time any vehicle parked in these limited-timed parking spaces.
Reminder: Compact Spaces Are for Compact Vehicles Only
Please avoid parking large vehicles (vans, SUVs, trucks, etc.) in spaces designated for compact cars. These spaces are specifically sized for smaller vehicles, and parking larger ones can create challenges for others trying to park or navigate the parking lot/garage. Let’s work together to keep our parking areas accessible to everyone. Thank you!
Citation Late Fee Information
A customer has 21 days to appeal a citation, specifically, 21 days up to the hour the citation was issued. For example, if a citation is issued at 10 a.m., the customer has up to the 21st day, no later than 10 a.m. to appeal their citation, and not by 11:59 p.m. on the 21st day. Customers will accrue a $25 late fee after the 21st day.
If an appeal is accepted during the appeals process, the late fee and citation are waived.
If a citation is appealed and paid for during the appeal process, the appeal process has now been forfeited.
If an appeal is denied, the customer is responsible for paying for the citation and any late fees accrued during the appeal process.

Drive with Caution: Vehicle Speed Safety Along Internal Streets
Please maintain a speed less than 10 mph when driving on Palm Drive past the main entrance kiosk and along any internal SCU streets. This is for the safety of our SCU students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Thank you!
