- 2024 WinnerThomas Plante, Psychology
Thomas Plante researches ethical decision making and health effects related to spiritual and religious practices. He was promoted to full professor in 2002, and awarded an endowed University Professorship in 2012--in recognition of the impact of his scholarship. He has published more than 25 books and 250 journal articles and book chapters, and, as his nominating letters point out, he is on the list of the top 5 most-cited professors at SCU, and he is the #1 most cited SCU professor in the social sciences. Time Magazine referred to him in a 2002 cover story as one of “three leading American Catholics” working on scholarship on clergy abuse.
