Tips for Professors: Prompt Feedback & Teaching Resources

Prompt Feedback Program

Get feedback on your writing prompts before assigning them to your classes!

In summer 2018, the HUB Writing Center implemented the Prompt Feedback Program. This program allows faculty to get feedback from HUB writing partners on prompts before faculty assign those in their courses.

If you want to find out how students view your writing assignment before you hand that out in your classes, please send your prompt our way! Once you submit, you’ll get feedback from two writing partners who will specify what’s already clear and what could be clearer – from the student perspective. Writing partners will rely on their own experiences as students and peer tutors but will also apply knowledge they’ve gained about transparent and equitable assignment design.

Submit your prompt or email Denise Krane, the HUB’s Director (dkrane@scu.edu). Feel free to view elements we’ll be focusing on when we provide feedback.

Please note that the writing partners are very eager to help but request time to do the work. Plan to give us a full week to get feedback to you!
