September News
We are just a few short weeks away to welcoming you all back to campus. Usage has increased with the return of law students, and those of you that are back on campus early. We can not wait until September 23 to welcome everyone back. For those of you that are new to campus - this monthly e-mail typically comes out on the 1st of each month and highlights events, and programs happening with Campus Recreation. Campus Recreation brings you a variety of Facilities, Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Services within the facility, and Memberships - each monthly email will have topics from these areas that are important for that month.
September 15, 1999 was a big day for the Malley Center - it was opening day! the facility turns 25 years old this fall and we will be handing out anniversary swag and other items at various events this fall. More details to come in a future e-mail. On our website will have by noon a history page and have created a document of changes since opening day - please enjoy!
If you have any overall questions please e-mail campusrec@scu.edu.
Be well - Janice DeMonsi, Director of Recreation

| Bellomy Field is currently closed for the turf replacement summer project. The project is anticipated to be completed Friday, Sept. 27 pending any delays. We can not wait to host our first IM events and Club Sport games on the new turf this fall quarter. There is NO other field available for use during this closure. We only have one recreational field on campus for students, faculty and staff to access. Stanton Field is an Athletics Field and available only for Athletics and scheduled programs through Campus Recreation.
The track is impacted due to this work on Bellomy Field - Astroturf is blocking off the track at our maintenance gate for the field and all users of the track will need to make a u-turn at the barricades until the project is complete. We appreciate the universities support for this project and can not to use it this fall quarter. |
