Nancy Spatz Lucid earned a B.A. in Classics from Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois), an M.A. and Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from Cornell University (Ithaca, New York), and an A.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from Foothill College (Los Altos Hills, California). She has taught courses on Western Civilization, Women in Antiquity and the Middle Ages, the History of Universities, Apocalyptic Movements, Medieval and Renaissance Political Thought, Rome through the Ages, and St. Clare and the Spirituality of Gardening at various schools, including Cornell University, Alfred University, University of Northern Colorado, The Colorado College, San Francisco State University, and Santa Clara University.
