What do you do in your role at the Center? As the Student Sustainability Coordinator for Communications, I’ll be helping share the Center’s stories, updates, and accomplishments across different platforms. My role involves supporting newsletters, website updates, LinkedIn content, and fundraising campaigns that highlight SCU’s leadership in sustainability. I’ll also be working closely with the communications team to manage content and engage the campus community.
What is your favorite part about being on the team? I haven’t officially started yet, but I really enjoyed the end-of-year brunch where I got to meet everyone. It was such a welcoming environment, and I loved that all the food was vegan—especially the vegan cream cheese!
What extra/co-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? I’m a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where I’ve been involved in a number of leadership and service opportunities. During my sophomore year, I served as our chapter’s Philanthropy Director, which allowed me to coordinate events and initiatives to support our national philanthropy while also engaging with the wider campus community.
Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share? I’m a certified PADI Advanced Diver and love exploring the underwater world. I’m also certified in PADI coral restoration and had the opportunity to travel to Florida to help plant coral in the Keys, which was an incredible hands-on conservation experience. Outside of diving, I’m passionate about traveling and discovering new places, cultures, and ways to connect with the environment.
