Applied Learning Project Database

Santa Clara University provides solutions-focused applied learning experiences that address sustainability challenges. Applied learning or living laboratory projects and programs are a powerful way for students to learn about sustainability and an important driver for advancing sustainability on campus and beyond.

 

Progress Terms:

  1. Idea: Project is in the beginning stages of development. Little to no formal research or documentation has been conducted.
  2. In-Progress: Formal research and proposal have been generated. Includes methods of implementation, recognition of barriers, and potential calculation of return on investment and emissions savings.
  3. Completed-Repeatable: Project has been implemented on a small-scale or temporary basis for data collection and large-scale feasibility testing. The project could be repeated for further analysis.
  4. Completed-Non-Repeatable: Project has concluded, either implemented fully or deemed not feasible during pilot testing.
