Potential hazards associated with compressed gas cylinders include, but are not limited to:
- Asphyxiation
- Corrosion
- Explosion
- Flammability
- High pressure
In a compressed gas cylinder storage area, remember to:
- Attach valve cap when compressed gas cylinder is not in use
- Proper Signage
- Protect cylinder from external heat sources and passing/falling objects
- Separate from incompatibles and isolate from highly flammable materials (>20 feet)
- Store in well ventilated room
- Cylinders shall be stored upright
- Metal restraints at 1/3 and 2/3 height of cylinder
