In the fall of 2000, Santa Clara University opened the doors of the Sobrato Residential Learning Complex. The building is named after the prominent Silicon Valley developer John A. Sobrato, class of 1960, and his wife, Susan. Sobrato Residence Hall, home of the Loyola Residential Learning Community, is located to the south of Sanfilippo Residence Hall. Sobrato Residence Hall comprises furnished and air-conditioned five bedroom suites and four bedroom apartments. Residents have access to a laundry room, study rooms, lounges, and a large commons with a kitchen. Residents may park on the south surface lot or in the underground parking garage. In addition to hosting residents, within Sobrato Hall there are classrooms and the Ignatian Center.
