Amy Chen, M.A. is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology Roosevelt University's Psy.D. program. Amy's doctoral paper docuses on the relationship between cultural values and family conflict between parents and adult children within the Chinese and Taiwanese American communities. She completed her B.S. in Psychology with a focus in Clinical Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. She has previously trained in providing therapy with individuals in both outpatient and inpatient community mental health settings and the School of the Art Institute Chicago's Wellness Center. She was also trained in administering psychological assessment to adults at Clarity Clinic. In Amy's clinical work, she utilizes an integrative lens, pulling from relational, person-centered, cross-cultural, feminist and psychodynamic theories to find what approach best fits each individual client. Her goal is to create a safe and affirming space in which clients feel comfortable enough to share and explore different aspects of themselves and what might be going on. Amy has previously worked with clients on relational concerns/family of origin challenges, identity development and exploration, and coping with anxiety, depression and life transitions.
