Emily Paez, M.A., M.S., is a doctoral candidate obtaining her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Texas Tech University. Emily holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University, a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University. Emily’s clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, community mental health clinics, medical centers, and high schools. She has worked with a diverse range of individuals navigating concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, sexual health, identity development, life transitions, and interpersonal relationships. In addition, she has experience providing couples therapy, group therapy, and diagnostic assessments. Emily utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, primarily using elements drawn from Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, Emotion-Focused, or Solution-Focused therapy based on the nature of the issues or the client’s needs. She views therapy as a collaborative and dynamic process that fosters healing and growth. Emily’s therapeutic stance is grounded in authenticity, warmth, directness, empowerment, and humor, with the goal of meeting clients where they are.
