SCU students are invited to exhibit and/or curate a fine art solo or group exhibition in the Dowd Art and Art History Building. The available exhibition spaces are the first-floor hallway and lobby, the second-floor mezzanine, and the third-floor student exhibition space. All students are invited to apply and submit a Student Exhibition Proposal. One exhibition a month can be on display on each floor.
In the spring, we show the work of students, most of whom are finishing B.A. degrees in Studio Art. Graduating seniors in the studio art program participate in a senior show where they learn the process of installation and presentation of their senior exhibit. Students work directly with an exhibition advisor to design and edit their exhibit, write up an artist statement, and host an opening reception in a professional manner.
In addition, all students of all levels participate in the Annual Student Art Juried Exhibition. Even non-majors are encouraged to submit their art work and have it judged by a professional jury for awards given out at the end of the year.
