Our gallery produces exhibitions of work by well-known professional artists, rotating our exhibitions approximately every three months to serve both the SCU community and the larger South Bay region. Every spring, the gallery hosts the capstone exhibition of work by our senior art majors, provides the venue for our annual Visiting Scholar/Visiting Artist Lectures, and showcases student scholarship in the annual Art History Student Research Symposium. In support of the arts on campus, the Department of Art and Art History collaborates with one of our campus partners, the de Saisset Museum, to bring together some of the finest Bay Area artists for the annual Artist Lecture Series, held three times a year at the museum. The gallery also provides several opportunities for student employment, providing valuable experience for students who are interested in exploring career options in the visual arts.
All gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public and are held in the Department of Art and Art History's Gallery, which is located in the Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History Building. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm.
