Discovering, developing, and understanding new medicinally relevant reactions for the transformation of small organic molecules, including 1) transition metal-catalyzed reactions mediated by tetrahydroxydiborane, and 2) reactions for the preparation and elaboration of quaternary carbon-containing compounds.
