The classroom is where I feel most alive — whether I’m working with college students or creating programs that support children, youth, and families, teaching and learning alongside students energizes me every day. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and catching live sporting events. I also moonlight as a chef… well, mostly in my own kitchen, but I love experimenting with cooking!

My research and practice center on Black male persistence and identity in higher education, equitable and anti-deficit frameworks in counseling and pedagogy, and culturally responsive approaches to group counseling. I ground my scholarship in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally sustaining practices that promote student agency and critical consciousness.
