Jamie Arce focused her senior seminar research on "Supporting Hospitalized Youth" after being inspired by an internship experience working under the Child Life Services department at a children’s hospital, supporting chronically ill patients in the playroom and in the newly developed hospital classroom. After witnessing the support that patients needed and received in the hospital, Jamie realized that one of the most overlooked aspects of support was during a patient’s transition back to school.
