Dr. Ari Perez Montes, Ronald E. McNair Fellow, is a scholar who looks at the intersections between identity, culture, and health. Their dissertation examined how the role of identity and culture for Latine transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) individuals impacted their identity, relationships, and health decisions (e.g., gender-affirming care). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2024. He has five years of teaching experience, and has previously taught courses ranging from Public Speaking, Communication and Gender, and Intercultural Communication.
