Lotta Kratz teaches classes in media studies, diversity, technology, and visual communication (still photography). Much of her teaching focuses on challenging students to reflect on, and take into account for their own lives, issues of power, privilege, and identity. In 2005, she received the SCU student-run Multicultural Center’s Faculty/Staff of the Year Award. She was nominated for Santa Clara University’s Inclusive Excellence Award in 2010. Originally publishing in the area of media use, over the years her interests have shifted into diversity, representation, identity, and visual communication. Kratz is an active photographer, especially using her iphone.
