David R. Bauer, Class of 1992
Founding Partner at Hemispheres: Research for Humans
I left home for Santa Clara in 1988 with a typewriter and a hazy vision for the future. I graduated in 1992 with an English degree, floppy discs full of writing, and a slightly improved vision. A few short years later, the Internet Boom erupted and everyone communicated via the written word again. Thanks to my English Degree from Santa Clara, I was much better prepared to write effective emails, insightful presentations, short fiction, and witty Facebook posts. I also had the opportunity to learn about the challenges and joys of life from a myriad of fiction and non-fiction authors. Since I departed the hallowed palms of Santa Clara, I have had the opportunity to start my own business where I travel the world learning, writing, and speaking about new ideas for a wide range of clients. I highly encourage incoming students to start their own professional journey with an English Degree from Santa Clara.
