The History Department was well represented when SCU inaugurated Julie Sullivan, our first lay person, and first woman, on October 7, 2022.

President Sullivan’s inaugural speech assured us of her understanding of the importance of history. Our department was well represented. Professor Tom Turley, our medieval specialist, carried the ceremonial mace, and Professor Barbara Molony represented her alma mater, Harvard University, in the procession of faculty representing various universities.
