Haruto Nakai Presents Research at IEEE Conference
Professor Sukanya Manna’ research assistant, engineering student Haruto Nakai, traveled to the 13th International IEEE Conference on Semantic Computing to present their joint work: Effectiveness of Word Embeddings on Classifiers: A case study on tweets. Researchers from all over the world attended the conference in Newport Beach, from as close as UC Irvine to as far away as Egypt, and from state-funded research institutions to Amazon's R&D department. Nakai met experts in the field, including researchers from prominent companies such as Ford and NEC, as well as other student researchers. Nakai reports, “It was a great experience overall, and I would recommend any STEM major to try and attend a research conference like this one, either as presenter or audience member.”
