Prior to Fall 2020, it rotated its efforts between three target communities: Incarcerated Youth, Homeless Women, and Veteran Women. For Fall 2020, we added Racial Justice to the mix.
High profile outside performances at Dolby Labs in San Francisco, Linux Audio Conference at Stanford University, and Garden of Memory in Oakland brought SCLOrk -- the Santa Clara Laptop Orchestra -- to entirely new audiences and raised the visibility of Santa Clara University in the music technology industry and electronic music scenes.

The Department of Music hosted the first Music and Social Justice Festival in January of 2016. This three-day festival brought together students, faculty and distinguished guests to explore ways in which music and the arts can address issues of social inequality, forge interracial alliances, and help to create a more just world.

A haunting requiem for 43 “disappeared” college students in Mexico premiered at the Mission Church—and won’t soon be forgotten.
