Dennis R. Gordon currently serves as the Co-Director of the Center for the Arts and Humanities for the College of Arts and Sciences and is the Faculty Director for the Modern Perspectives Residential Learning Community in Dunne Hall. He also teaches courses in international relations, comparative politics (Caribbean and Latin America) and environmental politics. His past scholarship includes articles on conflict resolution, development, Caribbean politics, and he is the co-author of an award-winning textbook on U.S. politics. Dr. Gordon was honored with a Peace Studies Prize, awarded by the American Historical Association, for his article on the Falklands War. His current research focuses on a comparative study of arts and humanities funding in the United States and the European Union. In 2005 he was honored with the IES Abroad Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in international education. Santa Clara University has awarded him the 2012 Dr. John B. Drahmann Advising Award and has received two President’s Special Recognition Awards.
