The Psychology Department welcomes Lang Chen
This fall, The Department of Psychology and the Neuroscience Program welcomed a new Assistant Professor, Lang Chen. Chen received his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, where his research focused on how the architecture of brain networks and learning experience jointly shape the representations of concepts. After completing his Ph.D., Chen joined the Stanford Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience Lab as a postdoctoral researcher. His research there focused on understanding the brain networks and neural representations of math and social concepts. At Santa Clara, he will continue his research on the brain networks and representations of concepts that are critical to our understanding of neurocognitive disorders such as learning disabilities and autism. He will also teach courses on Research Methods and Statistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Intro to Neuroscience and others. In his leisure time, Chen enjoys hiking, especially on trails that lead to waterfalls.
