The Psychology Department welcomes new Assistant Professor Lindsay Halladay
Lindsay Halladay recently joined the Department of Psychology as an Assistant Professor in SCU's new Neuroscience Program. Her research is focused on the neural mechanisms underlying aberrant behavior. Dr. Halladay’s lab will use an animal model to understand how neural circuits encoding reward and aversion converge and interact, with the ultimate goal of identifying the neurobiological link between stress and addiction. Before joining the faculty at Santa Clara, Dr. Halladay earned her Ph.D. at UCLA, where her work identified neural circuit mechanisms encoding fear and defensive responding. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she primarily researched neural networks involved in compulsive alcohol seeking. Dr. Halladay is enthusiastic about her role in developing Santa Clara's Neuroscience Program and is eager to share her passion for research and teaching with the students at SCU.
