Student Assistant

Hello! My name is Roberto Mercado and I’m the Department of Public Health's Student Assistant!

I’m a third-year Public Health student with a minor in Journalism. Up until my time here in Santa Clara, I was born and lived my entire life in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. My interest in Public Health is addressing the health concerns of disenfranchised communities. On campus, I am involved with the Multi-Cultural Center’s Student Organizations and conduct Latino mental health research with Dr. Alice Villatoro.
