Jaime Wright received his B.A. in Religious Studies from San Jose State University, his M.A. in Religion and Society from the Graduate Theological Union, and his doctoral degree in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union. He previously taught sociology courses at the Santa Rosa Junior College before joining the Religious Studies Department at Santa Clara University. His teaching interests include sociology of religion (including sociological methods of research) and how religion relates to American subcultures, social movements, health/medicine, gender, race-ethnicity, and body/embodiment. His research interests include lived religion and culture, especially in relation to health/illness and our bodies.
